Field Report — Northern Ghana
A Dream, a Giant, and a Woman Who Came Running

Isaac is the man I worked alongside for 14 years in northern Ghana. Under God’s hand, he now oversees 3,000 Discovery Bible Study groups in Ghana and 100 groups in each of 13 other West African nations — more than 4,300 groups across the continent, touching tens of thousands of lives.
In the last three weeks, Isaac has lost both a brother and a sister. I called him this morning to encourage him. He is grieving deeply, and yet he is still standing.
Please pray especially for the children. His brother left behind 7 children. His sister left behind 8 children. Fifteen young lives now face an uncertain future, and Isaac’s family carries the responsibility of seeing that they are loved and cared for.
In the middle of this grief, God is moving.
Isaac’s younger brother and sister have both recently accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior. And Isaac’s mother — who has long been resistant — is now speaking favorably about Christians. Something is shifting in her heart.
Then there is this story.
A woman in Isaac’s community — someone who had been very closed to the gospel — had a dream. In the dream, a giant appeared and was about to kill her. She saw Isaac overcome the giant. She came to him immediately and asked what she needed to do.
Isaac told her: it was not him. It was Christ who wanted her to follow Him.
She had one concern — her eldest son. Would he accept her decision? When she told him about the dream, his response was immediate. Because of the dream, he had no problem with her following Jesus.
Only God prepares hearts. Our role is to recognize what He is already doing.
