Accountability Partners

Pairing up with another believer to ask the hard, honest questions weekly: did you obey what God showed you? Who did you share it with? Training believers to keep each other accountable is what keeps obedience from fading into good intentions.

Accountability Group for Oral Learners

A simple weekly rhythm for groups of 2–3 — no reading required. Breathe in by hearing the Word; breathe out by obeying it and sharing it with others.

1

Be in groups of 2–3 of the same gender. If a 4th person is found, split into pairs.

2

Each person selects at least 25 chapters of Scripture to listen to. (If an audio Bible is not available, listening to an equivalent length of translated Bible stories can be substituted.)

3

Meet weekly and share whether or not you have listened to the passages for the week.

4

Quote 2 Timothy 3:16–17 and share what the Lord has told you to START doing, STOP doing, ADJUST, or GROW IN as a result of what you listened to.

5

Quote 1 John 2:15–17 and confess any sin related to the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, or the pride of life from the past week. Then share how the Lord has enabled you to do His will during the last week.

6

Spend time praying for one another based upon what has been shared within the group.

⚠ Confidentiality: clearly communicate and agree on confidentiality before sharing with a new partner.

2 TIMOTHY 3:16–17 (WEB)

Every Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness,
that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Ask: what should I START · STOP · ADJUST · GROW IN?

1 JOHN 2:15–17 (WEB)

Don’t love the world or the things that are in the world. If anyone loves the world, the Father’s love isn’t in him.
For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, isn’t the Father’s, but is the world’s.
The world is passing away with its lusts, but he who does God’s will remains forever.

Confess: lust of the flesh · lust of the eyes · pride of life — then share how the Lord enabled you to do His will.

Breathe in — hear the Word • Breathe out — obey it & share it with others
