Prayer Update — July 2026
Grief, healing, and the faithfulness of one man God is using across West Africa
Dear Friends,
I have two reports to share with you this month — one from northern Ghana, one from South Sudan. Both remind us that God is moving in ways only He can explain.
Field Report — Northern Ghana
Pray for Isaac
Isaac is the man I worked alongside for 14 years in northern Ghana. Under God’s hand, he now oversees 3,000 Discovery Bible Study groups in Ghana and 100 groups in each of 13 other West African nations — more than 4,300 groups across the continent, touching tens of thousands of lives.

In the last several weeks, Isaac has carried an extraordinary weight.
He lost both a brother and a sister within weeks of each other. His brother left behind 7 children. His sister left behind 8 children. Fifteen young lives now face an uncertain future, and Isaac’s family carries the responsibility of seeing that they are loved and cared for.
And now we have received word that Isaac himself has been hospitalized. He has just been released and has been referred to a specialist for prostate issues. Please pray specifically for his health — for wisdom for the specialist, for a clear diagnosis, and for full recovery. Isaac is carrying the weight of 4,300+ groups across West Africa. He needs our prayers not just for his ministry, but for his body.
The man God is using to reach thousands across West Africa is watching his own family come to Christ — one at a time — even as he fights for his own health.
God Is Moving in Isaac’s Own Family
In the middle of this sorrow, there is genuine reason to praise God. Isaac’s younger brother and sister have both recently accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior. And Isaac’s mother — who has long been resistant to the gospel — is now speaking favorably about Christians. She has not yet taken the step of faith, but something is shifting. We believe God is drawing her.
A Dream That Opened a Closed Door
Isaac also told me about a woman in his community who had been very closed to the gospel. Then she had a dream. In the dream, a giant appeared and was about to kill her — and she saw Isaac overcome the giant. She came to him immediately and asked what she needed to do.
Isaac’s answer was clear. It was not him, he told her. It was Christ who wanted her to follow Him.
She had one concern — her eldest son. When she told him about the dream, his response was immediate. Because of the dream, he had no problem with her following Jesus.
One dream. One conversation. One more life stepping toward Christ — and a son who could no longer stand in the way.
Please Pray for Isaac
For full recovery from his prostate issues — wisdom for the specialist and strength for his body.
For comfort as he grieves the loss of his brother and sister.
For the 15 children left behind — for their provision, stability, and care.
For Isaac’s mother — that God would complete the work He has already begun in her heart.
For the woman who had the dream — that her new faith would take deep root.
Field Report — South Sudan (Toposa People)
Praising God Among the Toposa
We also received an encouraging field report from South Sudan, where Abenezer and the team led by Ezira are working among the Toposa people. New village locations have been mapped and reported, groups are forming, and — praise God — baptisms are taking place. Men and women are coming to Christ among a people group that has historically been very difficult to reach.
Please Pray for South Sudan
For Ezira and the team on the ground — for protection, boldness, and wisdom.
For the new believers being baptized — that their faith would take deep root.
For Abenezer as he tracks, coaches, and encourages the groups across the region.
For clarity on group numbers and locations so we can report accurately.
Thank you for praying. You are part of what makes this work possible.
