Your Yes Could Change a Generation
Article 01
Someone may one day thank God that you stopped waiting.
A son. A neighbor. A family you have never met.
You cannot see everyone who might be reached through one step of obedience. But you can take that step.
Think about Ananias in Acts 9.
Jesus told him to go to a man named Saul, a man known for persecuting believers.
Ananias had questions. He knew Saul’s reputation. Going to him meant facing someone he had good reason to fear.
Yet Ananias went.
He entered the house, placed his hands on Saul, and called him “Brother Saul.”
Imagine the courage and love in those two words.
Ananias could not see all that would follow: the journeys, the churches, the letters, the generations who would encounter Jesus through Paul’s ministry.
He knew the next thing Jesus had asked him to do.
You do not have to see the whole future to obey Jesus today.
Perhaps you have been waiting too.
You know someone you should call.
You have wanted to invite a neighbor to explore the Bible.
You have considered taking Zúme training, joining a circle, or helping someone grow as a disciple.
But you keep saying, “Someday.”
After things settle down.
When you feel more prepared.
When someone else gets it started.
What if the next step is already clear, and you have simply been postponing it?
Jesus said:
“Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and don’t do the things which I say?”
Luke 6:46, WEB
That question reaches into our calendars, our conversations, and our plans.
We can agree with Jesus and still delay doing what He says.
We can read about making disciples for years without inviting one person to begin.
But that can change this week.
Picture yourself sending a simple message:
“Would you like to get together and explore a story about Jesus? We could talk about what it means and how to put it into practice.”
Or calling someone you could encourage:
“How are you doing? What are you learning from Jesus, and how can I pray for you?”
These are steps ordinary people can take.
God decides how far the fruit will reach. Our responsibility is to obey Him with what He has entrusted to us.
Our vision of helping fulfill the Great Commission by 2033 calls for people who will put Jesus’ words into practice today.
People like you and me.
Your assignment this week:
Finish this sentence honestly:
“One thing Jesus has taught me to do that I have been delaying is __________.”
Then choose a first step. Put it on your calendar. Tell someone who will encourage you to follow through.
If it involves another person, make the call. Send the invitation. Begin the conversation.
Your yes could change a generation.
Who might be reached if you begin today?

Comment “YES” if you are ready to take a step. If you would like help joining or starting a disciple-making circle, say so in your comment.
You can also help encourage leaders serving in difficult places. Your gift would be tax deductible and overseen by Northside Christian Church, our sending church. There are many we coach that could use encouragement in small ways to accomplish great things.
