07. Never Underestimate One Invitation

John 1:40-46
What if the person you invite to meet Jesus becomes someone God uses to reach thousands?
Andrew did not preach to a crowd.
He went to his brother Simon and told him:
“We have found the Messiah.”
Then he brought Simon to Jesus.
Andrew could not have known what Jesus would do with that one invitation.
He simply saw his brother, and brought him.
But Jesus saw Peter.
Jesus saw the man who would stand on the Day of Pentecost and proclaim the gospel.
Jesus saw the leader who would strengthen the early church.
Jesus saw the disciple who would eventually give his life for the One who called him.
Andrew brought one person to Jesus.
Jesus transformed that person into a leader who would help carry the gospel to the world.
Philip did something similar.
After encountering Jesus, he found Nathanael and told him:
“We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, wrote.”
Nathanael was skeptical.
He asked:
“Can any good thing come out of Nazareth?”
Philip did not argue with him.
He did not pressure him.
He did not believe he needed to answer every objection before Nathanael could meet Jesus.
He simply said:
“Come and see.”
That invitation changed Nathanael’s life.
We often underestimate the power of a personal invitation.
We think our efforts are too small to matter.
We want to reach crowds, influence cities, and launch movements, but Jesus may be asking us to begin with one person.
One invitation.
One conversation.
One opportunity to bring someone closer to Him.
You may not recognize the future disciple-maker standing in front of you.
You may see an ordinary family member, friend, coworker, neighbor, or acquaintance.
Jesus may see someone who will make disciples, plant churches, reach communities, or carry the gospel to places you will never go.
Andrew was not responsible for becoming Peter.
He was responsible for bringing Peter to Jesus.
You are not responsible for changing another person’s heart.
But you can invite them.
You can introduce them to Jesus.
You can say:
“Come and see.”
Never underestimate what Jesus can do through one person, and never underestimate the invitation that brings that person to Him.
Challenge: Who is one person you could personally invite to encounter Jesus this week?
Do not merely think about that person.
Pray for them.
Contact them.
Invite them.
Bring them one step closer to Jesus.
