10. Money That Multiplies
Article 10 | You Were Made for So Much More Than This
You spent years saving for retirement. Could some of those savings help someone else spend their life making disciples?
We learned to work hard, save carefully, and prepare for the future. There is wisdom in that.
But preparing for our remaining years also means asking what we want those years, and our resources, to accomplish.
What could we help set in motion that continues after we are gone?
Paul wrote:
“He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly. He who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.”
2 Corinthians 9:6 WEB
In this passage, Paul is encouraging generosity toward believers in need. He describes giving as sowing.
Money becomes seed when we release it to help others.
Think about what that could look like.
A leader has people ready to study stories about Jesus, but needs mobile data to connect with a coach.
A disciple-maker has a willing heart and growing responsibility, but an unreliable phone makes training difficult.
A small gift helps that person stay connected, receive encouragement, and help others put Scripture into practice.
The phone will eventually wear out. The data will be used up.
But the people equipped through those conversations can keep making disciples.
One leader helps another. One household welcomes the gospel. A new fellowship begins learning to love Jesus, obey His Word, and share Him with others.
That is something worth investing in.
I know people doing this work with almost nothing.
Many of the leaders I coach serve in difficult places. They are already sharing Jesus and helping others follow Him. Sometimes a modest gift can remove a practical obstacle and encourage them to keep going.
Would you consider helping one of them take their next step?
You may never visit their community. You may never sit in one of their gatherings.
But you can help someone who does.
We have talked throughout this series about giving our remaining years to God’s purposes. Our experience matters. Our prayers matter. Our willingness to coach one person matters.
Our resources can serve those same purposes.
Paul continues:
“Let each man give according as he has determined in his heart, not grudgingly, or under compulsion; for God loves a cheerful giver.”
2 Corinthians 9:7 WEB
This is an invitation to pray and respond freely.
Your step this week: Ask God, “Is there something You have placed in my hands that could help someone else make disciples?”
Write down what you sense. Then take a practical step.
We were made for more. And what we give can keep serving long after we are gone.

Would you help support the leaders we coach? There are many we coach who could use encouragement in small ways to accomplish great things.
You can give through Northside Christian Church, our sending church. Your gift would be tax deductible and overseen by Northside to support this ministry and the people we coach.
