12. Finish Well
Article 12 | You Were Made for So Much More Than This
When your remaining years are over, what do you want them to have produced?
We have spent this series asking what retirement could become when we place our time, experience, relationships, and resources in God’s hands.
Now comes the decision.
Will we admire the possibilities, or take a step?
Paul wrote:
“I have fought the good fight. I have finished the course. I have kept the faith.”
2 Timothy 4:7 WEB
That is how I want to finish.
I want to keep loving Jesus, obeying His Word, and helping others follow Him. I want people to carry this work forward long after I am gone.
Finishing well begins with what we do next.
Our vision is to help finish the Great Commission by 2033, to work toward every people and place having access to the gospel and disciples who can help others follow Jesus.
We cannot set God’s timetable. But we can give ourselves to the work Jesus entrusted to us.
Imagine what could happen if thousands of retired believers decided:
“I can pray faithfully.”
“I can learn to make disciples.”
“I can coach one person.”
“I can help a small circle grow and multiply.”
“I can use what God has given me to help someone else go further.”
You do not have to do everything. But you can take responsibility for your part.
I cannot travel as I once did. Yet I can still meet with leaders, open the Scriptures, pray with them, and help them train others, all from home.
My ability to travel has changed. My calling to make disciples remains.
Perhaps yours can take a new shape too.
Join the Zúme coaches. Learn the tools, practice them, and help someone else put them into action.
Or join a circle of people who discover Scripture together, obey what they learn, pray for one another, and help others follow Jesus.
Start with a few people. Learn together. Serve together. Help another circle begin.
The fruit may continue for generations.
