04. Your Testimony Is Already a Gospel Tool

John 9:25
“I don’t know enough about the Bible.”
“What if someone asks me a question I cannot answer?”
“I need more training before I can tell anyone about Jesus.”
These fears silence many believers, but the man in John 9 did not let what he didn’t know keep him from sharing what he did know.
Jesus had healed him after he had been blind from birth.
When the religious leaders questioned him, they expected him to explain things beyond his understanding. He could not answer every theological question, but he gave them an answer they could not dismiss:
“Whether he is a sinner, I don’t know. One thing I do know: that though I was blind, now I see.”

His testimony was simple:
This is who I was. This is what Jesus did. This is who I am now.
He did not have a theological degree.
He had not attended a witnessing seminar.
He could not explain every doctrine or defend every difficult passage.
But he had encountered Jesus, and he was willing to talk about it.
You Already Have Something to Share
You may not know how to answer every objection.
You may not be able to explain every theological controversy.
You may still have questions of your own.
But if Jesus has changed your life, you already possess a powerful gospel tool: your testimony.
Tell people:
- What your life was like before Jesus
- How you encountered Him
- What He has changed in you
- Why you now trust and follow Him
Your testimony does not replace the gospel, but it can open the door for someone to hear it.
People may debate your theology, question your interpretation, or challenge your beliefs. But they cannot erase the evidence of a life Jesus has transformed.
Do Not Wait Until You Know Everything
You will never know everything.
The healed man certainly didn’t.
But he knew enough to say:
“I was blind, and now I see.”
The Samaritan woman told her town what Jesus had done.
The man delivered from demons told his family and friends how the Lord had shown him mercy.
The healed man told the religious leaders that Jesus had opened his eyes.
Again and again, ordinary people became witnesses by simply telling others what they had experienced.
Jesus does not require you to know everything before you speak.
He asks you to testify faithfully about what you know to be true.
Your Story Could Help Someone See Jesus
Someone near you may believe that God could never forgive them.
Your story could show them that He can.
Someone may feel trapped by addiction, shame, fear, anger, or hopelessness.
Your story could help them believe that transformation is possible.
Someone may never attend a church service, but they may listen to an honest friend explain what Jesus has done.
Your testimony may be the bridge God uses to bring that person to the gospel.
Do not underestimate the power of a simple, truthful story offered in obedience.
You do not need to impress people.
You do not need to exaggerate what happened.
You do not need to have every answer.
Just tell the truth about Jesus.
The Challenge
Are you remaining silent because you think you do not know enough?
Write your testimony in three simple parts:
My life before Jesus… How I encountered Jesus… What Jesus is doing in my life now…
Practice sharing it in three minutes.
Then ask God to show you one person who needs to hear it.
Your testimony is not merely your private history.
It is already a gospel tool.
